As professional researchers of genealogy and family ancestry, we concentrate on England and Early New England Genealogy. Our specialty is with Massachusetts Bay Colony, Mayflower Descendants, Plymouth Colony, and the Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations research.
While you will find thousands of resources on the web for the "Do it yourself" genealogist, when you hit a stumbling block, we are available to assist you. Be it simply determining parentage, to complex identification situations where records have been destroyed or there is a conflict with reported data from different sources.
We subscribe to numerous publications and on-line web research facilities and have an extensive Library that includes most census records and other publications significant to our areas of research.
We are members of local area Museums, Libraries and Societies including:
· Brown University - John Hay Library (for Early Baptist Records)
· Cape Cod's Sturgis Library (The Lothrop Genealogy Collection and Henry Crocker
Kittredge Maritime
Collection - Early Cape Cod histories)
· Family History Center (For English Research)
· Martha's Vineyard Museum (The Gale Huntington Research Library)
· Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center (Early Connecticut, Massachusetts,
and Rhode Island
tribes)
· Nantucket Historical Society
· New England Historical and Genealogical Society (Extensive Research Library)
· Newport Historical Society (Houses most early Newport Records)
· Rhode Island Historical Society (Most early Rhode Island records)
Our customers vary from individuals to Museums.
As consultants for 5 years to the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center, we were a part of collecting and digitizing early Pequot tribal information. We have assisted numerous individuals in documentation of their ancestry in order to acquire membership in the Mayflower Society.
Our approach to Genealogy Research is an iterative one.
In each iteration, a task is performed and documented to reach a specific Goal. While it is nice to ask "Tell me everything there is to know about Roger Williams". In reality, that objective can not be tangibly defined. However, by completing specific individual tasks, and accumulating those tasks, we will come closer to knowing as much as we can know about Roger Williams. Some of the slices or objectives of the individual tasks might be:
· Who were his parents?
· Who were his wives?
· Who were his children?
· Where did he come from?
· Why did he come to Rhode Island?
· etc., etc., etc.
Our rates for our services are $75.00 per hour with an 8 hour minimum. A deposit of $600.00 is required before services begin. The first step in the process is to define and agree upon a specific objective to be accomplished by the research.
